This was taken while I was out. I don't want to sound cliche but as they grow out I am falling more and more in love. It so easy to manage and I have always loved being one of a kind. Many comment how they'd like to stop relaxing but we have become so accustom to we are beautiful when we are relaxing our hair and that is so untrue.

Locks
By Sharon L. Goodman
Some people stop, stand back and stare
since I decided to let Mother nature
style my hair
With her magnificent and powerful hand
she styled it in tune with the Motherland
Natural, nappy knots, dripping down long
Like mighty Kings and Queens,
majestic and strong
No more running from the rain,
drops flow free
Why even ancient winds don’t faze me
I jump into the shower, lather, rinse then
shake my head
Like towering, magical mountains
Still locked dread
No more burning lye or slick slippery gel
No more smoking hot comb with that
burnt ear yell
No more hard pink rollers or do-rags soaked
in grease
No more electric curlers, my hair
has found peace
Some people stop, stand back, and stare
since I decided to let Mother Nature
style my hair
I wear my locks proud, natural, and free
the sign of a power people
My locks are me….

Im getting better at shaping my braid-outs. Ive notice the shrinkage. It seems to be growing fast. I guess that means im in the early stages of locking. If I don't braid it nightly it is very unruly the next day. I'm still dealing with dry scalp. I only spritz the ends with rose water every few days or as needed. Nothing on the scalp. I have noticed when I go two weeks without washing the ends become so dry almost being brittle. Washing adds moisture for a few days. Or I shower without covering my hair for moisture. At my 6wk wash I used aubrey organics clarifying focusing on the scalp only then I used sisterlocks shampoo. It did help with cleansing my scalp.
